the lucky one
We fell into the party like two kids
you wore me like a stone on your necklace
The lasting feeling was ignorance
That rose from the carpet when I jumped and missed
Meanwhile the lucky one
Smile more than anybody
Folded on the table was a Greek poet
pinned beneath a domino and a Dominican
We were two cans tied with a piece of string
Waiting for an answer or an offering
Meanwhile the lucky one
Smile more than everybody
From all the hands, wires and wings
Were knitted nets to trawl autumns and springs
There it goes, the sun again
When the Cat sings to the Beatles..
